Crystals for the Lunar Month
Welcome to a new series I aim to create each month. Rather than tie in with the calendar month it will tie in with the new moon (sometimes the full moon if I'm feeling ambitious) providing you with a little bit crystal support and suggestions for the month ahead, useful for all but particularly useful for those looking to link crystals in with their practices (whatever they may be).
First up for this month is a little bit of grounding to take us into the darker steadier changes of our environment. My all round favourite for grounding will always be Black Tourmaline. An obvious choice I know but why fix what’s not broken. It’s my go to when I’m teaching or treating as it’s like my filter for any energy I prefer to not absorb, or give out. If you want something a bit different to help bring a bit of grounding, and also to work on creating small habits in this months Virgo moon, then Hematite is a great example. Hematite is fantastic for encouraging mental clarity and focus alongside grounding; win, win!
Element: Earth. Chakra: Root.
Next up is my all time abundance and creativity crystal; Citrine. In my opinion there’s only one thing that beats a Citrine and that’s a Smoky Citrine (chefs kiss!), but that’s for another day. Citrine is a powerful crystal for manifestation and abundance, but it is also good for creativity and getting the imagination going. If you’re trying to create healthy habits then working with Citrine could give you that little kick to get you started. Saying this they do have a fiery energy (and I often feel the physical energy from them) so if you are sensitive to stronger energies I would avoid keeping on the body and opt for something like a tumblestone when journalling/planning etc.
Element: Fire. Chakra: Solar Plexus. Sacral.
Finally, the trifecta of stable crystals wouldn’t be complete without a little moonstone! Moonstone has slowly crept into being one of my favourites. Moonstone is particularly good for working with moon energy (imagine that), if that’s your thing. Sometimes referred to as ‘the stone of new beginnings’, making it an ideal addition if habit stacking, implementing daily practices or rituals are the aim for this lunar month. Moonstone is renowned for stabilising emotions so works well alongside the grounding elements of Black Tourmaline.
Element: Water. Chakra: Crown.
I’d love to hear what your go-to crystals are!
