šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļøThings I notice, as a 40+ year old woman…

Are you like me, do you notice aches, pains and even a bit more before you’ve even properly woken up? Is it something new every day? Have you recently bent down to pick something up only to be greeted by a new ā€˜not so little niggle’?

I can imagine that the last thing you want to do when you’re feeling like this is to actually move more. You may feel its rest that’s needed, you may feel you need to let it pass, you might even be thinking that the last time you tried to add some movement to your routine you ended up being far too enthusiastic and it took you the better part of 3 days to move without a rapid reminder of overdoing it! (Absolutely not talking from experience as I sit here with my heated blanket and swithering whether or not to reach for the paracetamol!).

Joking aside (though it’s no joke) the most beneficial thing you can do for your body is to keep it moving - but you already knew that. What I’m here to say is that if you don’t like cardio, then don’t do cardio, don’t like weights, don’t do weight, find something YOU ENJOY. Movement comes in many forms, so there’s plenty of opportunities for you to find something that works for you. I do love Pilates (obviously), and Yoga is amazing for me too, I love a bit of weights and I’m all in to strength training. I also love watching films on the couch with my film buff son, and catching up on YouTube Vlogs (bit of a Disney adult here, not going to lie), but I know if I don’t do things to support and strengthen my body then I REALLY feel it just getting off the couch!

If you’d like to join me in laid back movement in the comfort of your own home then why not try my new online Pilates classes which start Saturday 31st January at 9am! First class free with code ONLINE.
