Welcome 2026…

Firstly, Happy New Year. I hope you had a restful, calm (as much as it can be), and enjoyable festive period. I’ve done very little — which is exactly what I needed after the last couple of months.

Slowing down at this time of year is important. It isn’t laziness or a lack of motivation, although I’ll admit I caught myself a few times thinking I should be doing more. That pressure to always be moving, achieving, and producing is something we’re constantly fed. But instinctively, this season asks for something different — retreat, restoration, and space to replenish.

That’s why I don’t buy into the whole “new year, new me” messaging. And to be fair, I’ve seen less of it this year — which I’m very much here for. It subtly suggests that the version of you from yesterday needed fixing, changing, or improving.

Life isn’t linear, and our bodies aren’t either. We’re meant to ebb and flow with what life asks of us. There will be seasons where slowing down is exactly what’s needed, and others where you feel ready to challenge yourself more. Both are valid. Neither means you were doing it wrong before.

With all that being said, this year I am very much prioritising not overcommitting (can I even do that?!), building strength and resilience in my body and mind, and my biggest priority is getting out there, forming new friendships (what are those?), being more sociable and trying new things - suggestions on a postcard please!

Going forward I will also be prioritising blog posts that will consist of a mix of everything! If you are keen to know the best pilates or yoga movement for that tight hip, the best breathing or meditation technique for when life is getting a little too much, or that special reflexology point that can be done when stressed is putting it lightly - you can find it here. If you have any burning questions feel free to get in touch and I'll add it to the top of the list.

Have a fabulous week everyone!
